This was it for me. The Wicked Hunt chasing these magical lights 😍 I never get bored going to the same place over and over again because I always managed to miss and found something new. Whether it's a new perspective, new conditions, new people, new lights, laughter... That's one of the reasons why I love to travel and photography. The possibilities are endless! Would you agree that every beautiful moment in our Would you agree that every beautiful moment in our life, every win, every triumph starts with one single decision? 🧐 18 km, 20 kg pack, drenched by the rain... Luckily, I managed to capture this shot with its beautiful airglow in a short window of 10 minutes. Keep reading if you want to find out about THE WICKED HUNT 👇🏼 chasing Comet Neowise that will not be visible for another 6800 years. Do we want to chase that thing that we love, we truly enjoy, that makes us feels alive or are we happy to stay comfortable? Now you might ask what this have to do with photography? How many of you are a perfectionist? I know I was and I still constantly fighting with it. I remembered planning this trip and thought... Gosh... I don't know if the weather gonna hold up! But "There's Only One Way To Find Out!" So we started this hike afternoon wanting to get up there in time for sunset. Few meters into the hike we got drenched by the rain. Now up in the mountain, there wasn't much sun so the chances are it will be wet all night. We kept going, wades through glacial river crossing, pack of snow and slippery scramble. Eventually, we got there. As soon as we got there the weather rolled in, the rain drenched us the whole night. But suddenly the sky started to clear and for a short 10-15 minutes we can see the bright stars glimmering. The one and only Comet Neowise traversing across the mountain range and the Milky Way Raising above the glacier. We often think that if the conditions don't look good then what's the point to head out? But these conditions are the time where you can capture precious moments, one of a kind moments and photos that will make you stand out in this saturated niche. It's ok to stay comfortable, tucked in on your ned but every now and then SURPRISE yourself and let the world surprise you! Planning is important but it's more important to be able to appreciate and preserve the moments right here and now! The most important asset in photography is our perspectives and your observation, not our cameras. This is how it's all started 👷🏽‍♂️➡️✈️ Can never get used to how beautiful this majestic island is... This island had always been close to my heart... Why? I wouldn't do what I am doing without my first trip to Bali. I'd probably still be in my suburb house, playing my electric drum or watching Netflix or hustling my life to win the rat race. You see I hated travelling, I thought it was a waste of time and money. As a kid I didn't have this privilege and it's crazy to see how I ended up here. Back then all I care about was that next car upgrade. That next 600cc sports bike. But something changed, I had a bad break up and all I wanted was to run away. I started to travel to run away from life but now I travel so that life doesn't run away from me. Back then travel was different. It was about having good time, party and drinking. It was that time when I realised that our time-limited. Have you felt this way at times? Don't get me wrong I still like to party at times. But I want to be able to look back on my dying bed and see the meaning of my chance to be in this world. That we are full of potential to achieve what it is we want. This was the very first seed to my nomad's lifestyle. I rented my house, sold everything and left my career as a Mechanical engineer. There's no shortcut to places worth going they say. I thought it doesn't matter what I want in life, if I want to be good at it it's gonna be difficult. So why do find a life that I could look back, be happy and proud of. Leaving comfy 9-5 was the hardest and biggest decision in my life, but over these years I had an amazing opportunity to be able to witness some of once in a lifetime moments. I got to meet beautiful human beings that had become my lifelong friends. I guess that they say is true.. High risk --> High rewards and it has been a life-changing experience. The Here and Now 📸 One thing I love about phot The Here and Now 📸 One thing I love about photography is the ability to capture the moment and freeze that particular memory. The ability to have a rush of good time from a single snap. By looking at a photograph we remembered the laughter we shared, the hot sweaty afternoon, the spicy taste of ACK (local version of KFC) 😂 One of the most frustrating things about travelling before I take photography seriously was the inability to preserve the moment and the beauty of its justice. Spending Christmas and New Year in Budapest, Berlin, Prague and 10 days shredding the Austrian Alps. 🌇 Safe to say it was one of the Wicked-est new Year I had. This was the very first morning in Budapest. I got woken up early in the morning and couldn't go back to sleep. 😴 So I thought I made the most out of it, I grabbed my camera and tripod and started to wonder. 📸 The day was gloomy. Thick clouds all around and I came across this view by the side of the bridge. I started to take a photo of the Parliament building when suddenly the horizon opened up. 🤩 The sun started to glow and the rest you can experience through this shot. It was the best morning (that I managed to wake up) I had that entire trip. Ah! One of the most difficult photo to capture is the sunset. It has a high dynamic range. What's a dynamic range? Basically the range betweem the brightest part of the photo and the darkest part of the photo. Whn shooting sunset often we can preserve the details of the brighter part (highlights) or the darkest part (shadow). This is where having a filter can make a big difference. Reverse grad or grad filter will help darken the highlights and therefore balance out the lights. What a magical night it was, I couldn't hold my ex What a magical night it was, I couldn't hold my excitement 😱 You might be surprised but you don't need expensive cameras to capture Milky Way photos like this. I drove 2.5 hours just to get a chance to see this. The weather been challenging here in Indonesia. For some reason the clouds tend to roll in as soon as the sun disappears. I had a moment of decision.. Do I take a chance or stay home. So I decided to take a chance, I had scouted some spots from google earth and photopills. We ended up driving around all night scouting the area. It's been so long that I forgot what it feels like to be able to see the Milky Way core rise above our head with our own bare eyes. Hands down the best night of my life! 😍 So abo Hands down the best night of my life! 😍 So about a year ago last night, I hiked up to this point of view with an 18 kg pack. It was the last week before I leave Canadian Rockies, the first attempt was a total bust! So I scout for an open sky and there was an opening. I was in doubt because the clouds were meant to clear up at midnight and when I got there the sky was full of them. You know what, you never know if you don't go. So I took a chance. As the day gets darker, I started to see a green band. I asked myself... Can it be? There's only one logical explanation. So I waited for another 10 minutes and there she is! You should've seen me dancing the night away, I was so happy! After all being able to witness and capture Comet Neowise, Aurora Borealis, Noctilucent Clouds, Steve & The Milky Way in one night... Was once in lifetime moments... To this day, this night still feel like a dream.
