How can you capture something unique from a place How can you capture something unique from a place where it has been photographed a million times? I took this beautiful and tranquil scene during a cloudy day.. When most people stay in bed because most believe that you can't take good photos during days like this. Have you ever played spot the difference? There are two photographs taken from the same spot, on the same day, during the same time.. But, the two show a different perspectives.. It also gives a different emotion and provides a distinct sense of the landscape. And all I did was zoom in and out.. You see, capturing a photo that stands out doesn't have to be hard or complicated if you understand the basics.. The simplest thing makes the biggest difference.. Tourism vs conservation... This is still my favou Tourism vs conservation... This is still my favourite waterfall I've ever visited It's always hard to find the balance. You could see how beautiful this spot is, and in the past, you have lined up just to get a clean shot... The pandemic hit Bali hard Many people depend on tourism, and when I first came back to Bali from Canada, I was crushed! The place that never sleeps was empty like a ghost sound. But at the same time, I am glad to be able to see nature reviving. I do find it sad to see pathways built to access some of these breathtaking nature so that more people can reach them easily.. For a few precious weeks in early winter, usually after the water freezes and before the first snowfall, some lakes in Alberta’s Rocky Mountains form “wild ice.” The smooth surface is temporarily skateable and sometimes gorgeous frozen bubbles can be seen just beneath the surface. When Stanley Aryanto moved to Banff in 2019, living in Lake Louise and then Canmore, he couldn’t wait to experience wild ice. The travel/landscape photographer, educator and explorer runs the Wicked Hunt Photography and says “the photo is kind of the bonus for me. Not every day is a good day, but there's always so Not every day is a good day, but there's always something good in everyday 😃 I was out all day. Since I was sleeping in the car during summer, I couldn't sleep too long. It was hot! So I was exploring Waterton National park all day, and by sunset, I was exhausted.. I wasn't sure if I should go.. But I am glad I did.. Being up on top of this viewpoint, watching the sun setting and Milky Way rising.. Now that's a good day! When I arrived and started hiking in Indonesia, people asked me.. Why would you carry all these gears? You could hire a potter for an affordable price.. For me, this is part of the journey. This is the passion.. The struggle actually makes the shot worth even more.. Have you ever felt passionate about something? You don't stop at anything.. Every struggle is a challenge.. Every roadblock is a motivation.. And every pain is a triumph.. That's why I push my limit.. I carry all that I can.. To go to these heights capturing one of a kind landscape photograph. I take the honour of carrying these gears, cramping up or strapping my knees because I push too hard sometimes. But this is what makes me feel alive! This is The Wicked Hunt. But life wasn't always like this.. I went through and still going through times where I am unsure how to capture a particular scene.. But over these years, I've built a library. A library that had taught me and my mentee how to create stunning and beautiful photography. This is a post of passion… what did I mean by th This is a post of passion… what did I mean by that? I can't find any better photo to represent my passion for THE WICKED HUNT than this shot.. We started the drive at 11 pm. When we got there, we realised that we did not need to begin the hike that early How many can relate? We waited a couple of hours in the parking lot because apparently... We didn't need to leave that early! Knowing that the hike was much shorter than anticipated, I decided to bring more of my gear.. 25 kg - 2 camera bodies, a drone, two tripods, batteries and all the other stuff that come with it I was FOMO ing.. I didn't want to miss a shot.. So we started the hike, and as we progressed, I told myself... How amazing would it be to be able to capture the transition between night, dawn and sunrise.. But I realised that I was running out of time.. So I went ahead of my friends and the guide I rushed my way to the top so that I could get there before the sun rose on the horizon One step at a time, I was running out of breath, and my muscle was burning, but I pushed with everything I had... I already have this shot and the timelapse in my head pictured... As soon as I got to the top, I was on the ground. I realised that I was not as fit as I thought. I was nearly puking, but I was fuelled by my passion It was cold. The wind was blowing hard. I found a spot to set up my tripod and started taking timelapse while doing jumping jacks, trying to keep myself warm.. The climb was hard, but the view and experience were worth it! This depicted my passion and love for this wicked hunt.. Staying up all night, spending time with the stars.. Have a Wicked Hunt exploring nature chasing sunrise.. And the love for adventures going to places that not everyone gets to go to at stupid o'clock.. To experience documents and share them with the world! How many of you have the same passion and drive? This is why I love what I do despite everything that I had to face Imposters syndrome, doubts, failures, being mocked on social media, dropping my camera 30 meters down the mountain, financial difficulties.. This is what the Wicked Hunt means for me..
