It's a LIE! Many people say that you cannot shoot It's a LIE! Many people say that you cannot shoot the milky way when the moon is out.
Well, they couldn't be more wrong.
I used to think the same way and it took me 3 years to realised that I was wrong.
As I recall on my photography journey, there were definitely many points of frustration that I had come across.
Gradually, as I overcome these challenges, I realized that I have gained some invaluable depth of knowledge in the field.
Being patient and persistent in the work are definitely some of key attitudes to maintain throughout the whole process.
During a new moon (no moon) phase you would never be able to see this much textures on the plants as well as the sands in the foreground. But because the moon was out and it was so bright, it light up the whole foreground.
Now you could also see that the drawback from the moon, is that it washed out the milky way, so the core won't look as promininent in the photo.
However, it is still possible to capture the milky way when the moon is out if you have a deep understanding on how the moon can affect the milky way.
There are few different ways to make sure that the core is still visible even if the moon is out, and the first thing is you need to understand the location of the moon with respect to the milky way.
If the moon and the milky way overlapping each other, then it's practically impossibble.
But if it's a little bit far from each other, you'd still have a chance to capture the landscape as well as the detail of the Milky Way Core like this photo
To figure this out you can predict the location of the moon using different tools like Photopills so that you can plan your shoot out before you head out for your photoshoot.
The moon is such a powerful tool in astrophotography, if you're able to understand and harness its power.

This was the most challenging photo I had ever taken...
Have you been wondering how to shoot the Milky Way?
You thought
✅ I couldn’t do this...
✅ I don’t have the money to spend thousands on cameras...
✅ I had never use a camera before... I don’t have an artistic eye...
Well, the good news is that all of these can be taught...
One of my mentees captured her first star trails after spending 3 hours with me...
She had never used a camera before and didn't have one before our class...
She bought a Canon M50 for $750 CAD which can easily get for $500 CAD second hand..
Fractionally cheaper than an iPhone
But the bad news.. well, let’s start with the good news...
It took me about a year to finally shot my first Milky Way...
And another year before I start to turn these average shots into something extraordinary...
But you don’t have to go through all these!
You can discover everything you need to do in one weekend.
BUT! There’s bad news…
The bad news is that you need to take a leap of faith...
To stop all of those negative thoughts and BELIEVE 💯 that you CAN do it!
On the 27th, I will reveal how to take photos of The Milky Way and what you need to turn those average Milky Way photos into something extraordinary...
If you have wanted to take photos of The Milky Way, then this is your chance!

There's something magical under the night sky.. H There's something magical under the night sky..
Have you ever stayed up late.. Maybe you're driving to the campsite..
You're sitting under the night sky, you look up and just couldn't believe the amount of stars you see up there?
That's how I first fall in love with the night sky..
If you want to capture these magical night sky even if you only have an entry level DSLR or Mirrorless camera then click on the LINK on my BIO to found out more.
It took me 8 months till I finally got this shot! It took me 8 months till I finally got this shot!
In January, I took a few friends to Penida.
We visited this spot, and right away, my vision ran wild... (Swipe to see day photos)
So last weekend, I ran an Astrophotography trip to Penida
I have many compositions I had envisioned for us, but unfortunately, The Milky Way was too high...
It wouldn't fit on our 16 mm lens
I knew this was the case. Based on my planning, I knew I should've visited earlier.
But I'm someone who won't let any challenge down.
I dug into my creative juice and improvised...
But that's not all. The other challenge was the weather.
As we arrived, the clouds were thick!
The forecast says it should clear up around 9, so we went for dinner and returned later.
And I couldn't believe it.
The sky started to clear up...
We walked on this steep and small path to the bottom of the beach...
And we started to shoot...
The tide was coming up... And the clouds were rolling back in.
We didn't have much time to make this a reality...
I asked @ladyofclover to stand in front of the lights...
And quickly took 7 photos of a vertical panorama...
And when I saw how it all came together, I was in awe...
I was happy & fulfilled
Starting something new is difficult. Finding someone to believe in your art...
Let alone someone to invest in your art...
But moments like this reminded me WHY I started this journey.
I wanted to create my own art and let those who resonated follow THE WICKED HUNT..
And those who don't, it's ok too.
After all, we all have different tastes..
If you want to be able to capture photos of the Milky Way and discover the steps you need to take to capture pictures like this in a weekend...

I was stuck! "Capturing the Milky Way is easy..." I was stuck!
"Capturing the Milky Way is easy..." If you know what to do...
I taught many people who have never taken photos of the night sky to capture The Milky Way in one day...
All they did was follow my step-by-step process...
However, crafting a milky way shot that is extraordinary and interesting is your next challenge.
If you look at these photos, I was stuck.
I was in a place where the milky way was right above me, but I did not have anything interesting, any composition to take the milky way shot with.
Now one of the things you can do when you run out of options...
When there is nothing but the flat ground is to try to create your own foreground...
In these photos, I have created a few different scenarios, using myself, my friend, my car, as well as the tent.
If you're stuck and don't have anything interesting to shoot with to create an extraordinary composition, you can craft your own Wow Factor.
You want to learn all the different ways that I use to create extraordinary milky way shots even when nothing is interesting...
Then, make sure you go to LINK IN MY BIO to discover the 3 simple steps to capture The Milky Way...
