I don’t always do black and white but I was putting together my course, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟯 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝘆. I was talking about how to make a shot from the middle of the day looks more interesting. There a few different ways I would approach it. One of the way is by converting them to black and white. Did you know that if it wasn't for The Milkyway I probabl wouldn't do what I do today? For sometimes about 25 years to be exact. I thought photography was a waste of money 😂 all those expensive gears.... Well now I know that it's not a waste of money, it transformed my life for the better and my the bank account for the worse. 😅
When I am there under the stars, I get a feeling like no others, it's like it doesn't matter what's happening in this world life seems to be complete.
Well I used to be scared of the dark, actually I still am a bit. And this wasn't one of those days. We were on family Christmas holiday and our accommodation had this view. So.... I just set the camera and tripod outside and let it rip for about an hour while I was inside enjoying time with my family 🙃 It very first star trail and possibly my favorite.
Do you realise that you dont see trail on the water? It's because I later found out that water moves....DUH!!! 🙉 and 1 hour long exposure, there's no way those boats will be sharp 😂😂😂 I could use photoshop and mirror the reflection, but I like it the way it is, it's as if there are two different worlds out there, a parallel universe perhaps.... OH! Gotta stop watching those Marvel movies 😬 but it also serve a reminder and shows me progress through my journey. Where are you in your photography journey? Did you get the same feeling like what I had?

This was by far the sweetest spot I've camped in.
Can you spot the light that's on by the cliff? Yup that's my ride 😃I stopped by this sweet spot on my drive to Brisbane in 3 days, yup I totally forgot to take into account the time difference 😅😅😅 i arrived here around 3 and woke up at 5 before the sunrise. The wind was so strong that the car shakes, felt like Hulk rocking the car. It was a cloudy day, but as soon as the cloud let a tiny bit of the sun to peak it created this dramatic light.
Have you come across sky like this before but the colour just doesn't pop out in your photo? Here's a tips, if you want to get a punchy vibrant colours like this make sure you underexpose the settings. However keep in mind that you need to know how much of the shadows you can bring up without affecting the quality of the photo. I use @adp_pro_ Luminosity panel to target a very specific area. That's how I managed to get such a vibrant sky while perserving the details on the shadow.

Oh damn it's Friday and the pub 🍻 is closed, is the mountain ⛰open?
On Friday the sky looks good for sunset🌅. I was gonna go to bBow Lake but I don’t know if I can make it in time. So settle for Herbert Lake. Herbert lake is famous for reflection unfortunately there was too much wind. When we got there I was pretty disappointed, I was struggling to find good foreground, the clouds disappeared and there’s now reflection. Then I thought, where is the Milkyway🌌, it’s been so long since the last time I shot the Milkyway✨. Just so happen it will pop right behind Temple Mountain 🏔. So I rip a timelapse and patiently waiting. We were there till 3 am. What was supposed to be a few minutes photo shoot turned out to be 6 hours. Then this idea💡rushed in just before I lost all of the day lights. Took a few shots for the foreground then waiting patiently for the background.
I went through the photo yesterday and put it all together. It turned out just like I visioned it, actually much better.

𝘿𝙤 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙖 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙩 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 𝙞𝙩 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚? Here's one Glorious sunset. 😍 It's such a beautiful hike, we start in the parking lot then walk through the thick crowd of pine trees. Then as soon as we pass them we're treated in an open meadow full of purple and yellow wildflowers 🌻. As we approach the home stretch to the summit 🏔 all we have was soft gravel. It's definitely an ankle breaker part of the hike! 🤣 the sun was coming down. Bringing 2 DSLR camera bodies, 2 tripods and 4 lenses I made it up here just as the sunset over the horizon. I was lucky to be able to see the glow 🌅 and straight away, one of the first things I do was shot this on a panorama. I like to do when approaching a photo scene is to capture both the wide environment as well as a more narrow perspective of the area. 𝘐𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘶𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸, 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘢 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵? I totally forgot about this photo until the other day when I was looking for a specific shot. I came across this shot. I didn't even finish processing and developing the photo. Maybe because I made a mistake by not locking in the exposure when I shot the series of photo for panorama. So if you want to make a consistent light across your stitched panorama shot, make sure you lock your exposure or use manual mode. I was in such a hurry I forgot to do this fundamental thing! Luckily I could fix it in post-processing. 𝘓𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘦 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘰𝘶𝘵? Feel free to pass this post along 😊 Shot with @Canon 6D with Canon 24-70mm f2.8L ii

Another Moody morning before the sun peak through and gave that beautiful show. But I never seen the lake as still as this day and it's amazing to see the reflection of the hotel and the ski hill on the background. When was the last time you're up for a sunrise?
